How do the sand cleaning machines work?
All our machines work by lowering a blade into the sand that then force feeds the sand onto the sifting grate. The grate vibrates forward and back rapidly, causing the sand to fall through the grate, in the process the debris then moves up the grate into the catcher unit. This is just one of the many key advantages of our machines as it does not rely on tines or paddles to “try and pick up” items. Once the catcher unit is full, it can then be emptied into a larger bin either hydraulically for tractor pulled machines, or manually for walk behind machines.
What sort of items can the machines remove?
Machines are capable of removing general litter, rubbish, cans, syringes, broken glass, seaweed, plastic, cigarette buts, animal droppings, stones, straws, shells, leaves and other debris. The amount and size or material that can be removed is influenced by a number of factors including the speed of operation, the mesh size of the grate use and more.

What size areas can be cleaned?
Our machines can be used to clean virtually every size sand area, though for efficiency reasons, it is best to select a machine most suited for it’s purpose. Tractor pulled machines are best used for larger beach areas, walk behind machines for smaller beach areas, playgrounds, golf bunkers and similar. It is best to select a machine that is most suited to the type of cleaning you wish to do.

Can the sand be cleaned if the sand is wet?
Yes. Varying grate sizes are available for use in variable conditions.

Will the “Walk Behind Sand Cleaning Machines” get bogged in sand?
No. All machines are fitted with high flotation rubber tyres, forward and reverse gears plus a differential lock.
Will the “Walk Behind Sand Cleaning Machines” cause damage to turf when transporting them to new locations?
No. Every machine is fitted with high flotation rubber tyres that does not damage turf providing you avoid extremely tight turning.
Are different screen sizes available for the “Walk Behind Sand Cleaning Machines”?
Yes – Customers can choose from screen sizes of 3mm, 5mm, 8mm, 12mm and 20mm. The Scorpion and Cavalluccio are normally supplied with 3 screens, having apertures of 5mm, 8mm and 12mm. The Ondina with two screens of 8mm and 12mm aperture. This can be varied at time of order at the customers request. Additional screens can also be ordered if and when required.
